I started drawing Comics and got published when I was 19 years old as a Science student in grade 12 of Mahinda College, Galle. My First comic story 'Pany Kurullo' was published in a weekly comics magazine called 'Suhada" edited by well known Sri Lankan Cartoonist, Camilus Perera. 'Suhada' was the 3rd most popular Comics magazine in Sri Lanka.
I continued for about 3 years and entered Advertising field as an Illustrator. In 1986 I contributed another Comic Story. In mid nineties I contributed Children's Comic stories for the Indian Comic Anthology, TINKLE.
In the end of 2006, I started bidding USA Independent Comic Book publishers. Creative editor of Anthony Rezendez of Cranium Comics hired me for 'Brawn".
BRAWN
Dockworker Sam Ross was “reborn” as the hero known as Brawn after he was nearly killed in a drunk driving accident which resulted in the deaths of Tom and Betty Hanson as well as their 6 year old daughter Jules. Sam has struggled with his new-found power and responsibility.
Having no choice but to accept his fate, Sam wanders the planet searching for both his creator and the rightful end to his existence, whichever he stumbles upon first. His heart is shackled by his white-hot desire for revenge as well as his longing to assume his place in Hell. Until he finds one or the other, he has reluctantly accepted his powers and seeks only to purge his soul of its burden.
It was quite a pleasant and rewarding experience working on Brawn with Anthony. I hope soon we will start on a sequel.
